1925
R. Tincknell & Son was founded in Wells by Robert Tincknell, offering blacksmithing and ironmongery to the local farming community.
1934
First Country Store opens, expanding into hardware, tools, and rural supplies.
1935
Frank Tincknell joins the business; agricultural machinery sales and servicing begin.
1954
Tincknell Fuels and Tincknell Heating launched alongside Shell Mex & BP distributorship. Domestic oil heating services begin.
1969
Philip Tincknell (3rd generation) joins the company.
1972
In 1972, the fuel and heating business was incorporated as Tincknell Fuels Ltd, a separate limited company, rather than continuing to trade under the R Tincknell and Son name as it had done previously.
1995
Robert Tincknell (4th generation) joins; becomes Director.
2006
Diana Tincknell joins; Tincknell Property division established for commercial/residential development.
2006
Self Storage facilities launched in Wells and across the South West under the Storage Factory brand.
2022
Tincknell Electrical Services added, supporting the heating and property sectors.
2025
Tincknell Solar launches, delivering renewable energy solutions.
